Despite all this it was OVER FIVE seconds slower around a TWO minute track!

WOW.

Has this ever happened before???

The GTR must handle better than any car ever in the history of cars.
hahaha

Ill give respect where respect is due.. that pig is fast around a track! If anything, the porsche nuthuggers have a lot more to whine about than us gm nuthuggers Wonder how much denial is going on a sixspeedonline!

i can believe the times given the track. buttonwillow is not very free flowing track, so naturally it will favour awd, especially when dealing with high hp cars. this is not an excuse, this is just the way it is, since some tracks will naturally favour one type of set up over another. 5 seconds is a huge difference.

One small point I wanted to make had to do with the optics of having steve millen, an ex-nissan factory racer and current owner of a nissan tuning shop, do the testing when he has a vested interested in the outcomes. While Im not saying the outcome would have been hugely different, how do you think it would look if Alois Ruf (Porsche tuner) or Lou Giolotti (Corvette tuner/racer) were doing the testing? hehehehe.

yup it would of been closer if all factory testers were in there own cars on that day...so maybe it is a tiny bit biast.but now it shows it is a fast car for a PIG

but it does look like the gtr is going to be a good car.u can use it for the family (4seater) and take it on track and do some good times.

wait so a normal zo6 is faster....hahahahahaha

of course the zr-1 is going to be faster but i would have thought nissan would have steped it up a level and take on the zo6 and win

well, someone is always a step ahead performance wise. GM is just generally the one making that step (for a fraction of the price...)

At least you can change wheels on the Vette without having the ECU freak the **** out.

He means the ECU will have a fit if you have to replace one tire b/c of a nail or uneven wearing. Most awd cars, and particularly those with electronic distribution, are very sensitive to changes in tire diameter because they use that information to help decide how much power to route to each wheel and may overheat the differentials if one tire is marginally larger than the others.. Thats why you are sometimes forced to change all 4 tires even if just one is bad...

Speaking of tire costs, Nissan has released service pricing for the GTR in Japan(check out the prices for a brake job and tire change!!)

Oil Change: $216 USD
Oil + Oil Element Change: 29,000 JPY ($250 USD) - include oil cooler service + undertray multi point check
Transmission & Differential Oil Change: $864 USD - include undertray multi point check
Brake Pad Change (all 4): $3500 USD - pad change + rotor service
Tire Change (all 4): $4000 USD - specially developed 20" run flat tires
