Less than 5secs...

Braking G force - 5.5Gs

Cornering G - About 5 in the Suzuka´s 130R corner, some say 6g has been obtained

Older V10 used extremely high end technology to obtain close to 1000hp (actually current F1 cars do make 1000hp, but after pumping and friction losses it goes down to about 800, wich is considered extremely good...) but current engines are all 90º flat crank V8 with máx of 19.000rpms and 4v per cylinder. and can only use metal in their construction, wich makes all their capabilities all the more amazing. The machines that make them have a precision of microns. (FYI: a micron is 75times smaller than a human hair) Magnesium, titanium and even carbon fiber has been used for the transmission casing wich is a full stressed component, so is the engine... etc, etc

Thanks for the info!! I love reading about stuff like this. Its truly amazing how far the engineers will go within the parameters of the rules. While obviously not good for the sport, it would be amazing to see what they could dream up if the rules were simply build a vehicle with 4 wheels occupying X amount of space that can get around the track fastest, with everything else open.

I think the biggest reason why so many engines broke down is because the FIA got Mclaren an exclusive deal to suply identical ECUs to all cars

Everyone is suspecting that the ECUs are filled with viruses
