It's supposed to be VWs sports car, and according to the article it's the same length as the Gti, but much wider, and if I remember my pontiac commercials correctly wider is better. Looks like it's going to have the 2.0t as the top of the line option in Europe, so it's a good bet it'll be either the 2.5 or the 2.0t here in America. Looks to me like they've decided to get into the chick car game and compete with the eclipse and the TC, though it's much more interesting looking than those.

Editors Note: The new Scirocco is *NOT* going to be sold in the U.S. at this time. VWoA feels the new Scirocco is too similar to the GTI in form and doesn't make sense to bring over. While we think the new Scirocco looks better than the IROC concept, it still isn't what a proper Scirocco should look like. Volkswagen had a beautiful opportunity to build a great looking coupe that would be unique in the lineup and instead has built a hotter GTI. As much as we like the way this thing looks on its own, we're disappointed the "new" Scirocco didn't turn out like it could have.
