If you buy a car just for your friends you don't deserve to be driving. I knew all the shit I was going to get when I got mine, but **** it. I've always wanted one and I know the potential.
As far as buying a used car, especially a sports car (like the M3) once you get over 100k miles you could be in some serious trouble. You have no idea how that vehicle was driven, even if you have a history report.

Yea I agree. I drove a civic coupe with a gsr swap 4 a bit and got a lot of sh*t for it. Drive what you want for you and not for your friends. BTW They gave me sh*t till I beat them! ![]() |

You get points based on how the judges score your drifting techique
JK.. its based primarily on laptimes (and i think there is one drag racing and skid pad event too). It rewards consistency and durability as much as speed b/c you need to drive your car from track to track over the week long event. One break down and you are out of the running. The civic did very well in 2006.. but far from stock obviously.... it was built and driven by a pair of Honda engineers (one of whom worked for the Honda F1 program in the UK) and had a supercharged 2.4 litre k-series motor swap i think (i.e. its not something the average joe built in his garage ![]() "For each event, first place is awarded points equal to 5x the number of official entrants. Each succeeding position is awarded 5 points less than the previous. Thus, if there are 95 entrants, then first place for a particular event would be awarded 475 points with second place receiving 470, third 465 and so on. Similarity, class points for a particular event are awarded with first place receiving points equal to 5x the number of official entrants in that class. Thus, if there are 10 entrants in SSGT1 class, first place at each event would receive 50 points, second 45 and so on. A DNS (Did not start) or DNF (Did not finish) receives 0 (zero) points." To be overall winner and class winner will be determined by the total high scores accrued from each of the contests along the route. Ties will be decided by the total elapsed time in competition events. Trophies will be awarded for overall standings and class winners. |

Get what you like... not what your friends like. Read reviews, forum threads and general information about your options. And of course, ask questions.
Before I got my last 2 cars I researched the first one for about 6 months (VR4), and the second for about 3 months (Civic). Then I went looking for them. And since I knew a lot about them, I knew I made the right selection and didn't get a lemon. Yeah, I have a Civic... and slow as hell since it is the LX sedan with the d15b7 engine and auto tranny. Nobody makes fun of me... at least nobody I know or in front of me. Maybe guys laugh at me on the highway, but who cares? I know I don't. If a girl makes fun of me, I just smile back at her and shrug... they like that. Always let a girl win even if you have a better car (this applies to games too). That will get you somewhere... believe me.And if some guy I know makes fun of me, I check his car, and if I can beat it, I tell him to give me an hour, and I leave to get my 3000GT VR4. The looks on their faces when I appear with my "other" car... ![]() Funny! Funny! That's been really fun and I have done it a couple of times.
