i wouldnt want a 1 of 1 ZR-1 or any car at that, well if i had the money to buy the 1 of 1 and a production one then yea i would want it

i wouldnt drive that sucka more than 5-10 miles

but a production ZR-1, would be a daily driver ahaha

The ZR1 that the person purchased was the 'rights' to the first production model, serial 001, not the one that was on stage.

I think part of the high price was due to the fact that the proceeds went to a charitable cause, thus you could buy a bad ass super car AND deduct the money you spent on it from taxes as a charitable donation. Smart move to whom ever bought it.

Its actually the clear that costs that I believe it. I can't remember the specifics but it protects the carbon fiber so it doesn't yellow.

Yup, the one on stage I think was Jetstream Blue but the one the bidder will be getting is Leman Blue.

Amazing car & colour.
Very nice guy to up his leading $900,000 bid to $1,000,000
I also liked the intro of the car, where he compared the ZR1 to Ferrari's, Lambo's and why it was a better ride.

he was refering to the new CAFE standards where the manufacturers fleet has to have a 35mpg average

If prepped properly carbon doesent yellow... If you use cheap clear, hell it will go yellow even if it isnt exposed to sun

I was wrong its actually something like 2k a gallon for the clear and 60k a gallon for the special "top secret" lol UV protection stuff they put into it. As for it being bullshit maybe, maybe not tho I don't know why they'd lie about it

I'd feel like a douche paying that much for some clear
