At your age, stick to a 4 door if at all possible and a non-V8. The srt4 is NOT an unreliable car, it's the owner that do shit mod installs and get crappy tune jobs done that cause their cars to run way to lean or way to rich and that has death written all over it for the engine. The srt-4 is a great choice for you, 4cyl, 4 door, quick when stock, fast when modded, and reasonable on your wallet. You could also go w/ the s/c'ed version of the Gran Prix, s/c'ed V6, and a exhaust, pully swap and tune will have you whooping your pals soon.

I might be a bit biased but I would say srt-4. As far as them being reliable that's going to come down to you as the owner. Too many dumb shits got a hold of them and gave them bad names. If you take care of it you won't have a problem.

Evo or scoob would be hard to find in that price range and have it be in decent condition. And the Z well, get an srt-4 work on the driver mod and smoke them stock for stock

Yeah, but it has 2 doors and that drives insurance crazy.....he's 17 guys, how many 17 yr old can afford a 350Z or WRX, or EVO?? Not many. But a relatively used srt-4 unmodded can still be found and had for 8-9K in my area, that is a steal for a pocket rocket that is easy on the wallet of a kid.

Yeah, bang for the buck you really can't beat an srt-4. NO fwd (and a lot of rwd's) can't touch it for the the price.

Evo's aren't the greatest in terms of reliability no? Subbies are expensive to fix and issurance will screw with pretty much anything you've mentioned except maybe the skittle { think talon said he gets good insurance rates}. 350z........ umm yeah. What about a NA-T Supra? Insurance is bound to be cheapper than a TT and its older so that should help you out. Maybe a Cobalt SS

Actually thinking about it a lil more if I were in your position I'd buy something thats older, rwd, good aftermarket, and cheap for cash so you aren't stuck with a payment should you get screwed out of your job.

I only get good insurance because of age and being married. When I was 18 and had the talon insured it was just over 3000 a year, for LIABILITY only!!!
