Default Suburbin?

welll just looking at a 86 burbin,,, supossaly it has a new vortec motor 350.. and 35's 4x4... i really want a 4x4 badly since all my friends do... and the thing is it's only a grad... so yeahh just wondering what your guy's thoughts are on burbins... i'm gonna check it out pretty soon here and maybe take some pic's... still trying to sell my dirtbike and when that sells i'll probably buy it...
tell me what you guys think... i know it's kinda a stupid thing to ask but i'm really looking forward to getting my N(drivers liscense) in october and i want a sutible ride... plus my chevy is gonna take a lot of money and time... so i'll just ditch it and buy something that i can actually drive and have fun with ...

A suburban will never be subtle, it's the biggest friggin truck on the road. It would be sick done up for offroading though, but for a grand I'd be worried about the condition.

FYI, there is no "new" vortec 350. The 350 was stopped after 1997. If it is a new motor it will be an LSx based motor. 5.7L, 5.3L, 4.8L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 6.6L, 7.0L, 6.6L,6.8L.........but no "350" I wouldn't buy it if he doesnt know what the hell is even under the hood or he is bullshitting you.

^ could be a crate motor, but as far as I know if he says it's a 350, that is an LTx based motor not in the vortec series.

i had one with a 6.2 on 33's, good driver but the trans died, and as for the "vortec" 350........ these days everyone will call it a vortec 350, it's vortec this vortec that, or ls1 bla bla bla, everyone like to put labels on shit. but if i remember right gm has a few crate motors with vortec heads on there roster.

oh yeah here's one.

350 Crate Engine 330HP (Deluxe) HO with Iron Vortec Heads 12496968 - Crate Engine Depot

we dropped that into this.

I agree w/ rob, that suburban is to big, a regular blazer or jeep or jeep cherokee is perfect IMO. Even a K-5 blazer is to big.

Traction, I know people "label" things wrongly these days, but if this guy does not know for sure what he has under the hood I wouldn't touch the damn thing. That's just like this old guy I was talking w/ a few weeks ago, he has a 1999 vette and he swore up and down that his car and my car had 2 different motors in them. His was a "vette engine" LS1 and mine was a camaro engine LS1, he also noted that the T/A had a slightly better LS1 than the camaro, but still not as good as his vette LS1. I tried to convince him it was the same, and actually mine was better because I had the LS6 intake from the factory and he said " they don't mix parts like that"......so I walked away from him and his "vette LS1" Another prime example of a ass talking old man, I can't wait till I catch that old dude on the hwy or at a light, I'll show him that my "camaro LS1" will bury his lil' ol' vette....LOL
