you make it before the other guy can. look at today, we got rid of most or our things ( like how we destroyed all of our nbc weapons,as did other countries) but now we have the crazy north koreans making them like crazy and what are we left with. yea it sucks but basicly its like they are comparing whos d**k is bigger but with friggin weapons.

Ummm bella, I highly doubt the US got rid of its nucleur weapons. Just saying.

Its crazy how hot that is, if you watch the first blast, it just vaporizes the paint right off of the vehicles.

most of todays H-bombs are around fifty mega-tonnes.....ohh wait that US doesnt have any more ...oops sorry forgot lol

We dont even have the A-bomb anymore, it was outdated in the mid 50's, after the invention of the H-bomb. But we do have silos that still do have nuclear weapons in them, not armed just idling in case of a nuclear attack. For example, if iraq sent small pox over to the US, Bush said that an atomic bomb attack was imminent. We just mo longer have ICBM's, those were outlawed in the treaties. (ICBM's are ballistic missles.)

Yes we do still have thousands of nukes, but we have toned it down alot since the 80's. We just dont need any more communist countries starting up again.

The US currently has around 500 minuteman IIIB ICBMs with 3 warheads a piece each with a yeild of about 335kt. In addition to this a force of 50 Peacekeeper Missiles is configured with 10, 350kt warheads. A large bomber force including B1B(not equipped to use nukes at the moment but can be changed back)B52H and B-2 can deliver a great deal of nuclear armed missiles and freefall bombs, usualy equpiied with selectable yeild warheads from 5-150kt. The US submarine based missiles include trident and poseidon missiles which number in the thousands. the most poweful of which the trident II D5 has a 400kt yeild.

The total count not includeing special warhads and weapons not known to the public comes to (very roughly) 8400 US warheads. russia is known to posess roughly 4900 warheads, althought the quality and state of the delivery sytems(missiles, aircraft naval platforms) for the russian warheads is in grave doubt. This is a more pressing concern than most realize but undoubtedly many of the weapons would work well enough. China is a definite threat with numerous inacurate but very high yeild nuclear ICBM and SLBMs. France and the UK rely on submarines primarily for their nuclear deterent. this is cheaper and more politically convienent for european leaders whos constituents would rather not know about what protects their nation.

The ultimate scenario is hard to pin down but a lengthy gloabl exchange would like end with the americans firing the last shot and then dying shortly there after. Not really a fun prospect but oddly intriguing.

Yep I was watching on the Military Channel ....Nukes(history of nuclear weapons) , they said US has enough nuclear weapons to destroy the world 12 times. Russia 4 times , China and UK and France 1 time. They talked about the Peacemaker missiles that the subs carry 1 missle has enough power to destory a whole continent and they carry 4-6 missiles per sub. Each Peacemaker missile carrys 10 nuclear missiles ranging from 150kt -500kt each missile. And all these missiles and nukes are still active today.

Im no nuclear expert , but I know the world shakes if they ever heard DeFCon from us. This is just shit Ive seen on TV.

no, i doubt they would destroy anymore than a 5mi radius, if that, those are old, like some of the first ones, the hiroshima bomb *only* destroyed like 2mi diameter...fallout sux tho...and that vid is a major repost...and old too...
