just guessing. 3rd was easier to do. not sure if the new stangs have auto 5 speeds and whatever ratios they use

Didn't think of the auto issue. But the newer ones should be at least 5 spds.

For an accurate dyno reading you use whatever gear is the 1:1 ratio, decent numbers through the auto

Yeah that's what I was getting at. 3rd in those is like 1.5x where as 4th is 1.1x.

The Boss 302 6 speed manual has a 1:1 ratio in 5th gear, not sure on the regular gt 6 speed.

I think the 6 spd auto has a .8x 5th gear

got to watch the new gt500 do a 1st through 4th gear pull on a dyno IN the detroit auto show, was pretty neat
