2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT vs 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI

I can't stand it when i see comparisons like this above from "Automotive Journalists."
1st- When they were testing the cars thay should have at least said that the STI's tires were SUMMER rated and the Mustangs tires were ALL SEASONALS, thats why the STI walked all over it.
With these tires, if these cars were TESTED in the snow for example the Mustang would have walked all over it. (A Summer tire in the snow might as well be a slick in the snow) Is that a fair comparison to the STI?
2nd- The price differance isn't even close. The limited Mustang Shelby Gt (which your paying for the name, tune and intake and in my opinion not worth the money), they are making 7000 units and IS 4k less, and the regular GT equally equipped is 7k less. The STI MSRP for MSRP is in the GT500 class.
3rd- Power Mustang GT 300 HP & 320 ft- lbs
Subarau STI 305 HP & 290 ft- lbs
EPA Mustang 17/ 25 MPG
Subarau 17/ 23 MPG
(Mustang 5 speed manual vs Subarau 6 speed manual)
Lastly I've scene a couple of STI's at the track, with an aggressive launch it's a 14 sec car, if you want to put it in the 13's, then your looking at 5500 RPM launches, which the owners that i've personally scene at the track were NOT willing to do.
On the roll the STI does not stand a chance, i've ran one on the highway.

I was refering to the STOCK TIRES.
To make it simple when they tested the cars on ashfault;
STI STOCK TIRES= SUMMER, STANG TIRES= ALL SEASONALS therfore STI ASS Whopped the STANG

NOW SAME TIRES in the SNOW
RWD STANG ALL SEASONAL TIRES > AWD STI + SUMMER TIRES

Never said the Stang OVERALL was better in the Snow, but when these Auto Journalists tested the cars thay could have mentioned the tires spec on both cars, thats why its night and day in the test.

You can SEE how ridiculous anyone would look if they tested the rides in snow, and PROVED the Stang was better with the stock tires.

yer.but do both cars come with stock tyres in this test? if there both STOCK. then it doesnt matter. the tests are both in stock form.

the stang winning 2 of 46 tests is say somthing..it cant be that biast of a review.?

Your missing the point.
Yes both cars come with stock tires.
All I'm saying if the tables were reversed and they tested the cars in the snow, the Stang will win, but I'd be the first guy to differ.

This type of Testing/ Journalism is the reason why import cars are THRIVING.
Anywhere thay can LIE (like the HP ratings on 2005 cars and previous) and stretch the truth, as the above clip they do.

RWD > AWD in handling.

If you truely believe that the results, STI beat the Stang in 44 catagories, I could careless.
I'm JUST pointing out A MAJOR FACTOR that was not MENTIONED.

It pisses me off that this report is going posion many teenage minds, so where i can, i point out the TRUTH.

both cars are stock. so the test is fair in my eyes. and there is no way the stang would win in the snow.so i dont know why u keep saying that.put them both on the dirt and see who wins on a rally track..... just pointlesssaying these things.

put both cars on the same tyre and the sti still wins in handling IMO...and is a better alround car..

but i get your point u thinkthe review is all lies

lol, i was driving my stang in the snow at 15 mph, in 3rd gear, my second gear tops out at 85mph, so you know i have tall gears and at 15mph in 3rd i had NO traction, my truck pwns in snow mustangs dont

Every STI owner I know (to include myself when I had mine) has a second set of wheels with winter tires.

The Bridgestone RE070s that come with it are USELESS in the snow, and not that great in heavy rain. Man do they stick like hell in the dry though.

I wish these comparisons were done with the things performance oriented drivers would do to an otherwise stock car. #1 Better tires #2 Better Alignment (ie, to help fix factory understeer)

The cars were compared stock for stock and the mustang lost. GET OVER IT.

i dont think it was crafted.. it was a stock vs stock comparison...and the stang just wasnt good anuff.

My 04 STi was three times the car my 01 Cobra ever thought of being. I don't like the 06s because of the ugly front end they put on em, and I hate the 08s because they made it a wagon.

There is that v8 appeal though, and for some, it can make you overlook serious design flaws.

yer v8 isnt anuff for me to bet over the uglyness.thats why i dont like hardly any american v8s. as there so damm ugly. i only like the c6 vettes and ford gt.
