Well it's good to see someone understands were I'm coming from.
In performance tests the tires make all the differance, and that was what I was trying to point out. Thanks for pointing out that the Bridgestone tires, as I was trying to say are great in the summer, useless in the winter. If there was a stupid comparison, like on TOP GEAR, were they tried testing the STI in the snow with the Bridgestone tires, trust me I'd be the first one to stick up for the import. Althou I prefer, and believe that there is a better USA built car in almost all classes (except for the STI & EVO niche market), I hate seeing people mislead, BS etc... Quote:

What you said below is true, just tried to point something out.
But what I can say is, and I mean it 100%., I hope you get the import car you want. It be so funny if you bought an American car. |

Well things have changed since I was a teenager. The cool cars were Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes (and in that order).
You've odviously haven't been cruising in a Stang, althou it's three years old now, people still pull over to check it out, and tell me about theirs, or the one they owned etc.. |

haha. this is a funny thread.
I love when tempers flare over ridiculous things. When people know that they know better than anyone else and you cant argue with them. I do think its funny that an engine twice the size of the subaru's doesnt really produce a whole lot more HP.

stock vs. stock, the stang will lose to the STI no matter if it had better tires or not, the STI will own the stang. Hell, my friends v6 camaro w/ headers, full bolt-ons and gears was side by side w/ a new GT automatic until 120mph, when my friend started to pull.....then the stang let out. That is just sad IMO.

Well firstly the Subaru isn't in the Mustang price range. For 40K I'd expect 300hp as a mininum.
2nd- I dont understand people like yours logic, always looking at engine displacement. The Stang has the same power, weighs more, 5 speed trans and gets equal EPA city and higher (2mpg) more on the highway. If you look at other US V8's like the Z06 compared to the 911 turbo, the Z06 engine is larger, makes more power and gets higher EPA city & highway. That's what technology is POWER & EFFICIENCY not size of motor vs HP. The problem with people like you is, you just go by what people say, rather than investigate yourself. Quote:

Yeah sure it did. It's just so amazing what a Camaro can do with a header., esspecially your friends.
Let me also guess with a cam and head on a V8 Camaro, it can put down around 450RWHP, the same as a 427 LS7 Z06 motor. Quote:

If you've owned two mustang GTs i could careless. The 98 you say was so terrible that you went out and bought an 04.
Most of the Mustang has to cater to market of people from 16 to 60. Having all seasonals odviously makes the most sense, seeing the younger crowd swamp them out for larger rims/ rubber while the older crowd leaves them alone. When i posted what i did it was just an observation. |
