Now that was a sick ass run. Two very fast cars and a super close run. Good post.

Yeah, once a KB blower is added to an 03/04 cobra they become a street terror. We had one at our local track day and it was ripping off some 10.90's by the end of the day....wow.

ex: Mustangs: 4.6 F-Bodies: 5.7 If they were running the same displacement I could see your point. But Chevy's 5.3 puts out about the same numbers as a 3-valve 4.6 Mod motor.

LAMO.....comparing a truck motor to a supposed performance motor. If ford would get its head out of its ass they would realize that an overhead cam motor makes only sub par power, that is why they need forced induction on EVERY ford that is considered fast. GM had OHV larger dispalcement engines that actually make linear power through out the rpm range, unlike fords OHC motors that fall flat on their faces by mid-range.

They're both bad ass machines. These runs were between two friends on the way to the track and here are the results at the track.

The 5.3 not for performance applications?
I guess Chevy doesn't put much value into the SS name anymore then. They use 5.3s in the Impala and Monte Carlos, despite the stupidity of them being FWD. Linear power curves? Maybe not with the stock, restrictive induction/exhaust, but that's easily fixed.
