Sounds good, but you need a stall and gears bad.

Yea. I am working on it. In the next two months or so I am going to be dumping 10,000 into the 95. Right now it only has pullies..catback exhaust and my timing is running at 13 degrees. I hope to be at 550 rwhp by X mas ... Keeping looking for updates here under baker's stang
Thanks guys for the compliments |

^why 10K ? Is it going to get an 03/04 cobra motor swap? If so, then it will be worth it.

I was actualy thinking about buying an 01 cobra and s/c it but no... If you go to ford performance racing website and look at the crate engines... im most likely going with the 302 with 340 horse... Considering my step father works for ford I get a discount so that engine will cost me aroun 3000 and then I will redo the suspension.. S/c..headers...etc

Dont buy a crate motor, they come with hypereutectic pistons and are not for the average user who wants to supercharge. Have a motor built in your area, or find an 87-92 shortblock and have that rebuilt at minimum expense and toss a turbo kit on it. That way, when it does break in half (and they all do around 550HP), you can just toss another stock bottom end in for peanuts since they're dime a dozen.
Car sounds good, you could definitely benefit from a shift kit, higher stall, some 4.10 gears and suspension/chassis work. With the few mods I just listed (properly matched stall), your car will pick up an easy 8 tenths in the quarter mile. SS |

i atually just got done speaking with a guy from kooks headers and with the mileage on my car, if i did all that work it would just fall apart. So Sunday im going to look at an 01 cobra with full echaust headers. and a 2004 mach1 stock..what do u think.. both have under 30.000 miles..

Get the mach1, it will outperform that 01 cobra, and mod for mod the mach responds better to bolt-ons. I have seen a 5 speed mach1 get a cold air kit, headers, full exhaust, gears and drag radials and run in the high 11's. That shit is crazy right there.

^ yes, the mach1 is a better car overall, but see if they can't come down on that price some. I SERIOUSLY doubt that an 01 cobra w/ bolt-ons made that type of power w/ out forced induction or N2O. Those 01's only dyno in the 270ish rwhp range, so I doubt that a cold air and full exhaust would give it almost 100 more rwhp. That dealer is pulling your chain or he DOES NOT know what he is talking about. An 01 w/ those mods might not even be at 300rwhp.

I thought the 01 cobras came from the factory with 320 to the ground because of the 1999's problems. The exhaust he has is made from a custom company who makes their own headers and exhaust that were dynod to give a 45 hp increase. Also on the inside of the cobra he has spent around 2000 making it look "good". The 04 mach1 wanted 21500 i have already talked her down to 18500. Once again thanks for the advise.

01's may have been rated at 320, but that is a flywheel HP rating. Due to fords transmissions and a stout rearend, the drivetrain loss in power is greater. They lay down on the dyno near 270 rwhp. There is no exhaust, custom made or bought from a retailer that will give you a 45 rwhp increase. Under supercharged applications, maybe, along w/ some custome tuning you could get 45 hp out of exhaust and tuning, but not on an 01 cobra.
scroll down and look at post # 4, he's talking about his 1999 cobra pre-exhaust fix and post fix scroll down to post #8 and he's talking about his 2001 cobra Dyno #'s for stock 99/01 cobras - Ford Mustang Forums

^not everyone has the knowhow, tools, garage etc... to that work. His money, let'm do what he wants. I would personally build up a foxbody myself, but hey, to each his own.
