Yes the reason I did buy the Gts is because of that reason, it is 600 pounds or so lighter , and the plan was to make it into a mid 10 sec car, but things change and I think I'd rather the mach 1. For the name , the 40 year anv. , and it is a higher starting point then only 215 hp, plus I can afford it. a few things like gears , pullies , intake , headers and full exhaust and im basically set and who knows maybe down the line in the future ill buy a KB and see if I can get in that 10 sec catagory.

i would get a 5-speed mach 1 as they have a forged crank and also rev 1,000rpms higher which is 7,000rpms. They have classifieds for mach 1's on that website all the time and they are real cheap too

Dude get rid of the borla exhaust. I dont know if you've heard it from the outside or not but in my opinion the borla is way too quiet and burbles like a gm. My friend has an 01 cobra that had the borla on it when he bought it and that went on ebay real quick.

^ that should satisfy you plenty for now. The gears REALLY wake up a 5.0L. Good luck and have fun w/ it.

^ not to bad. There are plenty of T5 trannys for a 5.0L stang, check local salvage yards before buying new. My best guess would be $500-800 for a good used tranny, then you would need a clutch $400-500, master and slave cylinders $300 for both, clutch pedal ????, and the console for the 5 speed ??? don't know or cant guess the cost of the last two, but you may be able to get parts cheaper, I was just best guessing. Hell, 5.0L parts are some of the cheapest around.
