Mustangs are nice, but a 95 5.0 with the mods you have mentioned has no chance against a 97SS w/ gears.

^ yup, I was gunna say something about that, but I didn't want to start a war. My friends bone stock 97 SS 6 speed went 13.7's @ 106 bone stock, so yeah, a 5.0L stang will need alot more work to get where a LT1 SS is. Unless his friends car is ragged out and he cant drive for shit.

By ran with him i never meant i stuck with him side by side... yea he walked on me but no much... my car is also 600 lbs lighter then a normal GT. His car is also a Z28 that he turned into an SS. And the top speed for my car is not 130, this I know. His car tops out at like 127 because of the gears.

Doesnt matter anyway because in 20 min im going to the bank to get the loan for the 04 mach 1.

gear limited to 127 mph? dude.. even with a 4.30 rear end, which is STEEP on a fbody, 5th gear still goes to 141 mph and 6th is good for 209 mph assuming stock 5800 rpm redline and stock tire size.

ive done weight reduction too.... i can see 100-200 lbs taken off pretty easily (a/c, airbags, rear seats, speakers), but 600 lbs is super extreme. unless you have taken a hole saw to your car (im serious) and rewired your car, it sounds a bit optimistic. anyhoo... congrats on the new car.

You said your friend's car tops out at 127 because of his gears. So unless we are talking about someone else now, I was running under the assumption you were still talking about your friend with the 97 SS. In which case, I call BS for the reasons noted earlier.

209 on a camaro? whats wrong with you.. and yes ive been in his car and just before the speedometer hits 130 it peaks out rpms stock and mph stops and no there isnt any regulators on it

Yeah, even w/ a 4.56 gear I have seen guys go 140mph. What does he have a 5.20 gear ?? lol

Stock factory speed limit on a 97 SS is 158 mph. With tuning it will do 170. With a 2.73 gearing, heads/cam/exhaust/tuning....200+ is do-able.
