Default Ferrari F40 vs. Lotus Elise :)

Shocking...

a $39,000 Lotus Elise with a 4 cylinder Toyota Celica engine can keep up damn close to a $415,000 twin turbo V8 Ferrari F40...

where do you get these prices, im sure the Elise is alot more than 39,000, and the f40 has probably depreciated alot as well. but you're right about them being close for the price difference.

Its more than $440,000... F40's are quite rare to acquire.

The biggest difference here is that if you wreck the Lotus... its just a Lotus.
You wreck an F40, just TRY to get another one. Props to him for having the balls to take it to the track, and I can understand cautious lapping.

Driven flat out the F40 is quicker than the F50.

my prices are from my Road and Track magazine.. you can get an Elise for about $39,000 for all the basics.. and I found an F40 for sale on some european site today, for around $415,000 USD.... but hey..

it gives you the basic idea right?

Lotuses (or is it Lotii?!) have a very good "bang-for-your-buck" value. It's got over 100hp per liter and it's nimble on its feet. It also weighs 1945lbs, 480lbs lighter than the F40. Unfortunately for the Lotus, the F40 has 159hp per liter from its 3.0L twin turbo V-8. The guy driving the F40 is smart.....show these guys who's boss without pushing the car to the limit. I'd do the same if I owned a $450,000 car. However, the Lotus is very affordable at $40,000 (LoL, I ain't affordin that). After all, it's just a Celica motor tuned to 190hp, it's not like they can ask any more than that for it.

the autor is a member of fastdrive,1-11 and have make other 2 videos, you can see in members videos>track section
In the fact the elise is one of fastes car under 70mph,and more simple to drive.
An F40 is more difficult goes fast, more of an enzo or f50 or modena, there also few video about the f40 on fastdrive from a japanese driver and the car is really fast and i think for arrive near the limit of a f40 must be a professional driver
In short and slow track the elise and seven are better of more supercar, try on monza and the f40 make a lap than fast of 10 second...

ye, the guy has balls to race his f40, and the only reason the elise catsches up in corners is because of the size of the lotus compared to the massive f40.
respect to the F40 driver

no kidding, i didnt know they were that rare and that they appreciated like that. o and i got my price tags wrong, i was thinking of the Lotus Esprit, which is another awesome car, but cant handle for shit. btw you can put just about any small 4 in an Elise, iv heard of people putting Honda engines in them as well.

I dont think that is an Elise Also i have driven an F 40 my old neighbor used to own one. And that car is a pure race car for the streets. Also the driver of the Elise might be more experienced.

LoL.. the F40 is a pure-bred race car for the TRACK...

it is street/road legal... but I tell.. it is not the most comfortable or practical car to drive on the streets.. LoL...

But ehh... i just think the F40 driver was being cautious with his 1/2 million dollar car... the Elise can have fun.. and not worry about it
