There are three basic ways to determine if a Ferrari is a 575 or a 550. First, look at the front air dam. On the 550 Maranello the foglamps are on the inside corners wheras on the 575 there aren't any at all. Secondly, First gen 550s lack the body coloured headlamp housings. 2nd gen 550s do have them but they don't have the lamp grooves inside like the 575s do. And lastly both the size of the front grill and rear license plate mounting space are different sizes. 550s are larger than the smaller more spherical shaped 575 airdam. The license plate mounting space on the 550 is longer than on the 575 for both US and Euro models.
