Was that the bets race in years or what!!!??
![]() I knew s*** was gonna happen when the weather forecast predicted rain, but that was awsome. Right at the start, a few touches has is a bit usual, and when the rain came down, all hell broke loose!! The heavy rain turned the track into an ice ring, and the only person with intermidate tyres was the rookie Markus Winkelhock. Markus Winklehock is the son of the late ex-F1 driver Manfred Winkelhock killed in a race in Canada in 1985, and nephew of Manfred Winkelhock also an acomplished race driver. The irony is, that his fathers last GP was his sons first, at the Nurburgring. Markus started in the last place of the grid, and when the rain started he was the only one to be able to keep pace and stay on track when everybody else had to pit in to change to wet tyres. From the last place on the grid he went to the first... quite amazing when you ride the weekest car in the grid at your first GP ever, in your home circuit. At turn 1 at the end of the main straight, 6 cars lost control, one after the other and by miracle didnt crash one into the other and ended at the gravel traps, including Hamilton wich was winched out of the litter by a crane and set again on the track where he continued the race behind the pace car. Vitantonio Liuzzi did the amazing thing of loosing control behind the safety car at slow pace, almost hiting it and just touching a bit the crane that was removing the cars from the traps. After the new start, Winkelhock was quickly overtaken, and Ferrari took the lead. The best incident was was in the last 8 laps, when the rain comes back and Alonso who was in second starts to catch up to Massa in 1st, and in the last laps battle it out for first almost like Villenuve and Arnoux at Dijon in the early 80s. When Alonso finally passes the cars make contact, but Alosno takes the lead and wins. But the best is before the podium ceremony: As they stop the cars, Alonso calls ther cameraman to close in on the side of his car and shows the marks of the contct that he made with Massa and signals, "No, no" Has they enter the waiting room, before the podium to fresh up and weight verification and drink water, Massa and ALonso great each other and the start a bitter exchange of words in Italian (strange, when they could have talked in their own languages) ![]() Alonso says something that cant be heard by the camera and gestures thir contact, Massa answers out loud: - "When we were fighting the position?" Alonso -"I showed the viewers, watch it" -"Screw you! You win and do something like that?! You win and say something like that?!" -"You hit me, you hit everybody! You cant do that!" -"See if you learn, See if you learn!" Massa walks off the camera view and Alonso keeps going: -"See if YOU learn. You hit everybody, there were only 3 laps to go" Mass sits donw but stands up again and says: -"Like you did in Barcelona!? At the start? See if you learn!" Then Herbie Blash, the FIA oficial cuts in and doesnt let it go any further. The in the press conference Alonso apologises and gives a tap on Massa´s harm to show he means well. Well, first, Alonso and Massa used to get along quite nice if you consider they are each others main rivals. Alonsos atitude is tipical of a little wiener, but I have to say it was nice of him to apologise after that, it suited him well. This main not seem much, specially when you compare to the wrestling matched at IRL and others, but the FIA doesnt like this kinda stuff at all. For them this is the worst thing possible, cuz they try to sell the drivers has gentleman, and civilised. And incident isnt that serious, because its obvious that Massa lost front grip, when Alonso shovbed him to the still wet part of the corner. Anyway, cant wait for Budapest!!! ![]()

Awesome race! I was watching it but fell asleep after the restart. Had a big day and previous night! I was hoping it would pour down with rain again!
