hey- 'nother NooB here, so hopefully this is in the right spot. I've been looking all over for any info or footage of people racing isuzu's (esp fwd or 4 dr). I suspect they qualify as DSM's since the chevy spectrum turbo was the same car.
i may be asking the impossible (kinda like finding parts for my 87 i-mark turbo!). thnks

Hah, sorry, but that doesn't qualify as a DSM. A DSM is any joint venture vehicle between mitsubishi and what is now known as DaimlerChrysler... Generally speaking.

ah-ha! a great mystery revealed!
just the chrysler/mitsubishi qualifies as dsm, eh? So, how would you classify stuff like the toyota matrix/pontiac vibe twins, or other combined efforts from the big three and japanese engineers? ('course in the case of the i-mark, it's an isuzu engine w/ gm electronics with a handling package designed by an english company...) the insanity!

I'm not entirely sure how those would be classified, but maybe there's some other acronym or something that would denote those vehicles. But usually if the vehicles are made using different companies that still belong to the same parent company there's not too much fuss about it, the dsm's were built by mitsubishi and daimlerchrysler combined, which have different parent companies which is what makes it different from most other similar occurances.
