I love dsms so much... so much fun to drive and play with people. I did a very similar thing to a guy in a yellow mustang vert gt. As for whether the camaro was even trying or not, keep in mind a lot of camaros have v6's and aren't particularly fast.

They can be plenty reliable, just depends what level you take em to and how much time you put into what should be regular maintanence. DSM drivers just like pushing things (boost is freakin addictive) so naturally under 20 lbs or more of boost, things are gunna start breaking, and given the circumstances most dsm engines are under, it's impressive how well those cast iron beasts hold up. Very few engines could out pass the 4g63 in reliability under that much boost and with awd drivetrains that are 10 or more years old.
