Like he said though , if the car ( any car ) is not taken care of then it will not be reliable.I have owned 6 dsms , and beyond the crappy computers in my 1st gens( which is not exactly an unknown problem ) once you do the cap replacement you wont have to worry about that.And BASIC MAINTENENCE goes a long way.All my DSM'S have been bullitproof as a 10-15 yearold car can be.So if you dont think they are reliabe then get rid of them and get a boring civic dx and go about your bussiness :mecry:

Uhm... WOW I guess Im about 3 years late in responding....

Well, I am the one who at one time owned the Laser. The Camaro was an Automatic, and he DID let off since my OIL filter flew off like a prom dress, making it look like I toasted him. I probably would have won but not by too much.
Soon after that video I spent 4 years as property of the State.

Thats why I am late....Ha HA...seriously.

Don't blame the horse if the saddle's on backwards. The car will only be as good to you as you are to it.

DSM's can be had dirt-cheap thus very accesible to kids whom buy them, and brake them.

Another thing to keep in mind. This so called "unreliable" engine 4g63t has been in-production for 18 years now. and I really dont know why since it's such a pos.
