AMS built EVO 2.3 stroker GT42R Turbo Dyno'd 850awhp @ 38psi vs Twin T57 Turbo Cobra @ 18psi (dyno'd 675rwhp on pump with 15psi)

clearly the evo would walk the cobra, he just kept fouling up the shifts.

That and keep in mind the size of the turbo he is trying to spool. 4 cyl with 2.3l trying to spool a turbo larger than the t57s on the mustang with more disp. for his.

The think the powerband on that evo would be way too abrupt for track use. It probably jumps up a couple hundred hp over the span of 1k rpm!!!!
Great for drag racing or roll-on's, but a smaller turbo with more response woudl be ideal for the twisties. |

A race is a race, I cannot believe that AMS would not let a good driver drive that car like...maybe the Cobra boosts earlier than the EVO...by the numbers game should be the EVO but maybe the Mustang has better power/balance/gearing in that straight line.

the reaon the stang pulled away quicker was because he is already mid throttle by the final honk
guy in the evo also had the lesser reaction time
