Ok, I signed up just to say a few words on this post. I am not knocking your DSM..I have two buddys who both own one and they are fast and I seriously believe your time of 10.6. I know a guy who has a twin turbo dsm and is running mid 10's. My beef is what you say the corvette has for mods.
I will post facts: a c-5 is Roughly equivalent to a SS camaro for all arguement sake... A STOCK 2000 SS with a STS turbo running 8 PSI will cut an 11.7 - 11.8 all night long...I've seen it and can post the vid if need be. This is with 3:42 gears..literally stock minus turbo and driveshaft to hold the torque...so you are telling me that a C5 with a 12 PSI supercharger AND 4:11's AND Full Bolt on's is only running an 11.6??? I have a FULL BOLT ON SS and have ran a 12.3? Thats NA and just bolt ons..no cam..no super..no turbo... I am going to have to raise the BS Flag...not on your kill but on the vettes mods...plus...if you talked to the guy enough to get his mods...you would have never said it was a z06 to begin with...I have seen z06's run high 11's stock...so eek eek eek... there goes the flag...BS!!! |

^Again, people need to read the whole topic. On the very first page it was said that the z06 was a typo cause it has z06 wheels on it and unless you're a mod you can't change thread titles. Second he, evileagle, also said that the vette wasn't running water/meth injection that night and where does it say FULL bolt ons, it says bolt ons... that's it.

Do you realize the basic principle of how a turbocharger functions ?: Turbocharger's work on the chain reaction principle. Here's the basic principle of the turbochargers operation.......... Lets assume the engine is idling and, so is the turbo. The waste gate is open and, boost pressure is ZERO. Then you open the throttle to a certain point and keep it there. Now the engine starts making little power on it's own and creats more exhaust flow. The added exhaust flow then makes the turbo spin a little faster and raises the boost pressure, which in turn makes a little more power, which in turn.....(the chain reaction sets in). The chain reaction is also limited by the waste gate regulation, and the airflow. Here's how it's works put simply. Biger displacment equals more exhaust flow. More exhaust flow equals turbo spools up qiuker. The qiuker the turbo spools the more power you make quiker. Having said all that would you care to tell me how you would spool up a turbocharger on 2 cylinders, with only 1 litter of displacment? To put it simply DSM's do not have sufficient displacmnet of exhaust waste to power a twin-turbo setup as suggested. There are no gains to be had when running a twin-turbo setup on a small displacement engine. There are good reasons why most high Horse powered supra's and, skylines are converted to a single turbo setup : 1 to increase spool efficiency 2 to run a larger turbo 3 to decrease lag 4 to simplify the setup 5 to minimize the possibility of boost leaks 6 to decrease weight 7 to reduce heat 8 ect..........
