Just got back from Drift Atlana 2005. Overall was a great weekend but I dropped the tranny in my RB20 powered 240... Damnit! Anyway... I have hundreds of pics to sort through. Here are a few to get you started...

The one of the coolest things was the Enjuku racing's cars with the new tires from Kumho that smoke RED when they burn!! :eek3:

NICE! i want red-smoking tires... is it just a compound in the rubber?

Probly. I dont remember where in was but last year after a Nascar race the winner was doin a burn out and the smoke was yellow. (I think it was richmond)

They were very closed lip about it. They debuted at this show. I snuck up and got a close look at one and it looked kinda chalky. Not like it had powder on it but in the rubber itself. I dont think it was something they put on the tires because it never wore down. Was always the same start to finish.

Thats Tarzan Yamata, one of the judges. Last year it was the same car, but was sponsored by Benihana. Now its Vakamon, Tarzan's clothing company.
They make drifting gear... shirt and stickers and such...

SAM got his ass kicked TWICE and the judges moved him forward both times. One of them was by a n/a twin carb toyota corolla AE86. The crowd was PISSED and booed him on the winners stand.

Was what, Rhys Millen? That beat Sam?

No it was Taka Oeno in the silver and Bronze AE86 and Dai in the Pacific Rim S13 Sivia.
Dai ended up second and Rhys was third. Sam beat Reese in the quarter finals.
