Bonnevilles ( SSEI ) are Supercharged 3.8L Automatics FWD

Chrysler 300C with the 340hp hemi are not slow at all either.

Both are Grandma / Family cars

You guys will argue over anything on here....

onnevilles have 8's in them now, but comp i hate to burst your bubble, but dude they are PONTIAC FAMILY SEDANS. Find a new car, one that is actually nice, not a 4 ton boat with a V8 in it. Get a real car.

my towncar has a v8 in it. does that make it a granny race machine? haha.

V8+FWD=RETARDED no matter how good the traction control is or the traction.

or for that matter, FWD=RETARDED

When I took my girlfriend to 6flags in GA we watched the 2005-6 dodges/jeeps/chryslers being test drove HARD

They had 300s and magnums drifting, even lit up the tires on a SRT-10 RAM.

Only thing that I didnt see was a viper

Way better than our 2000 Grand prix GTP. Im not tryin to be rude but im just tryin to get the point across, everyone thinks pontiac's suck but then they got buy some GTO and modifiy it to hell. Alot of people do the same with other pontiacs to, including Bonnevilles.
There are many differences between the Northstar in the Pontiac and the Northstar in the Caddy...especially the supercharged version. The internals are not the same.

The traction control may work well, but it cannot overcome the laws of physics. Front wheel drive is never an optimal layout. If you don't know what a traction circle is, it may be worth researching for you. Also, weight transfer during hard acceleration...the weight of the car goes away from the drive wheels further reducing traction. All the traction control is doing is reducing the power to the given traction level and slowing you down.

From a review...
Quote:
The first thing I noticed upon driving away is the car's size. It's big and feels even bigger because the driver has no idea where the extremities lie. There's a heaviness to the way it responds; for example Pontiac claims a 0-60 time of just over six seconds yet acceleration feels slower.
That time is much slower than the standard 300C...let alone the SRT-8.

Bottom line is that you may like the Bonneville, but the car is really in a different league than a 300C.

Also the GTO isn't really a Pontiac. It's a Australian Holden.

Traction control doesn't improve traction. It can't. It just reduces power. The Bonneville goes zero to sixty in the mid 6's which is pretty slow for a V8 car. Many 6 cylinder cars in its class are quicker (Maxima, Altima, Accord, Acura, etc).

This must be a joke.

300C is one of the sexiest cars on the market. Its not meant to be a performer but it'll eat a GXP alive.

Heres a slightly modded one I shot at the Portland Intl. Auto Show:

All you FWD haters need to rethink your stance on all that is FWD: Nothing and I mean nothing builds upper body muscles better than man-handling potent V8-powered torque-steer.

Are you on something ? To SAFELY boost ANY vehicle, compression ratio should ALWAYS be dealt with. Provided that the vehicle IS NOT setup for it from the factory.

And I gotta agree with above... I can't believe people are arguing over 4 door mid level luxary rides... You wanna race, buy something built for it.

The 300c are pretty good looking cars, so is the GXP. But personally if I wanted a highway crusier and that had some gitty up. I would buy a slightly used 03 SSEI Bonneville , slap the pulley on it , cold air, and chip (seen a Regal and GTP have this setup they ran low 12s allday FWD). Save ALL kinds of money and make the 300c look stupid in any race. But that would be my personal choice for a highway car. This arent freaking sport cars ! cmon now.

That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan; retails for about one hundred nine, ninety-five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right, shop smart, shop S-Mart!
