I never realy liked the Srt-4 Neons. I looked at one and you say wow a 4 door, front wheel drive, turbo neon. Yea 13's stock in cool (considering that the '05 Mustang GT (automatic) runs 14's) but I just don't know if they can handle regular abuse, and how reliable the motors are gonna be (the 2.0L and 2.4L seem to have been having problems with head gaskets sense '95). But I never drove one, and never worked on a neon (except my friends '93 sport), not the best car to race but it was quick for a 2 door, 4 banger with a 5 speed). Although my '92 Escort GT kept up with him (lost by 2.5 cars length).

All of you are stupid fighting over a few tenth of a second. How about judjing the cars perfomance not by a straight line but on a real track? That's where mustangs without heavy tuning suck.
It's all about the engine design, can't say that all 2.0 and 2.4 have problems. |

Pretty lame when Mustang lovers have to brag about being able to beat a neon, that is almost as fast for a lot less. A couple Mopar performance parts and the Mustang is dust. In addition that video had that yellow neon blowing up, if i remember correctly that particulat car was boosted to hell on all stock internal as they were pushing it to see how for they could go with the stock internals.

yea the srt is a fine car...
who cares about 10ths of a second that means nothing.. what does mean something is on the track, which mustangs arent as good as srts. My car is notthat good on the strip (about 14 seconds) but the S2000 could blow away a srt or a mustang on the track. |

i dont think so. s2000's are great and all, but it wont beat a srt4 or a mustang gt. s2k's do like lower mid 14's stock. they are made for handling. the s2k has no more than 240 hp dynoed and less than 150 lb ft of toque stock. a gt has nearly 300 or more lb ft of torque, thats more than 2 times as much as a s2k.
