2009 Dodge Viper ACR on the Nurburgring | Concept Photos, Reviews, & More at Motortrend.com
7:22, 4.x seconds quicker than the ZR1 ![]() EDIT I watched a bit of it now, kinda looks like there is more in it ehh? On the straight it seemed it hit the limiter a while before it ended or is that me hearing things? Very impressive, it seems like a fun as shit car to drive

Did he stay in 4th gear down the back stretch? cause it could have gotten a better lap time if he at least got into 5th imo, and if he didnt mis shift twice lol

good car control but seriously, where did he learn to shift? i understand some reason to stay in gear is you are gonna hit the limiter for a tiny bit befor the corner but 4th gear only on the back straight? no excuse for that

not a surprise given the power, weight, tires and suspension on that beast.
on a somewhat related note, the viper brand may not be a part of dodge for much longer: Marketing muscle of Viper has atrophied "Chrysler announced yesterday it has been approached by "third parties" interested in "exploring future possibilities" for the Viper. The company said it hired Lazard Ltd. as its financial advisor as it weighs whether to sell or keep the sports car business." Potential buyers for Viper could include custom-made sports-car builders such as Panoz Auto Development Co. or a private investor interested in auto racing, said Jim Gillette, an analyst at CSM Worldwide. "Some of these very wealthy individuals might look at this as a huge opportunity to pick up kind of a hobby business," he said. "Certainly there's a cachet involved with this vehicle." The brand could fetch about US$100-million, CSM analysts estimated. |
