.........It is called PURGING. Done to purify the nitrous tubes before hitting the NOS. This getts the nos tubes full so it is ready for a direct nitrous shot. It allso blows all the air out the the tubes. All paul walker has is by a purge valve and mounted it on his bumper.

It is also to get a fresh shot of nitrous, fresh nitrous, more power.

Hate to burst your bubble, but you're wrong. A NITROUS (not nos) system is designed to run with nitrous in liquid form running through the lines, when the nitrous is allowed to change density into a gas within the lines it can throw off the precious balance of nitrous to extra fuel and thus get dangerous for your engine (you can go into over lean conditions and melt things real quick). The purpose of the purge is to vent the lines to make sure that any gaseous nitrous gets out and all that's left in the lines is liquid nitrous, thus making sure you don't have any extra chances to blow something up. AND... it's N2O, not NO2

how about steam routed outside the body in subfreezing temps, dumbass. had to see if it would work without spending unnecessary $ on nitrous. after all, i am a drunken adventurer extraordinare. 15 beers, 29 degrees and 1 determined drunk=a working effect; and mild frostbite.

Lemme be the second person to say I don't like nitrous. Why base your power off something that you have to refill on a regular basis. If I calim my vehicle makes such and such HP I want it to be consistent, all the time, doesn't matter what's in the trunk. I want to make the same power after driving the snot out of it as I did before hand...that is, once I finally get a car to build for the street...

i think you've been driving a merkur too long. i work for chrysler, hear me roar. i've also worked for mitsubishi, hyundai and honda. i think if i had coolant coming out of my bov, i would be having serious problems. but instead, i have an '04 pt turbo w/stage 1, mbc, bov, intake, exhaust and wga laying down some serious sleeping rubber. i do not believe i would have made it to work today if i would have been overheating seven months ago and not touched the vehicle. instead, i foolishly told my best friend one drunken night that the effect was possible without nitrous. $20 went down on the table and my foot in my mouth. one creative hour later, the $20 went in my pocket. i was just as surprised it worked. only a drunken theory that somehow went my way. so i guess the moral of the story is that this was a funny experience that i would actually expect 95% of people to not know if it would work or not without seeing it, and the other 5% would naturally have to be the self proclaimed genius sitting behind the keyboard trying to look smart. thank you for representing your minority. funny story, not fate of the world. i'm done with this thread. have your last word.
