Any of you plan to take part in the 3000 mile race? Or have you already? Last time I checked it was £30,000 for driver and £15,000 for passenger for the week. Its expensive but apperently its worth it. 1 week of drink and women. There is a cheap alternative called the "Scumball 3000" where random people try to recreate the race in small hatchbacks and old cars that are falling appart.I'm only 17 but I hope to take part when I'm older...it's one of my life goals.

none of us on here have that type of $$$ to be spending on a race that you are almost 100% going to get a ticket or go to jail, fu*k that.

^ yeah...right...look at all the pics and vids of dumbass celebrities and rich turds getting pulled and jailed, car repo'd....do you seriously think that a race that is that well talked about and promoted wont draw attention to the cops? Not to mention are the "scouts" looking for cesna planes and choppers as well? or speed camera enforcement? Or other people on the road calling them in for racing like morons?

A client of mine took part in the 2006 gumball (oil/gas exec from calgary) in a yellow z06 (team 76) with his buddy.. he couldnt stop talking about it. Im sure its fun if you had the money for it, but I'd rather do the One Lap of America.. no b/s racing at some of the finest tracks in the US.
Syc: if this is one of your life goals, this is the kind of money you will need to make to come out and play (and im sure he was one of the relatively "poor" guys in the rally) Darren Katic: Executive Profile & Biography - BusinessWeek Last edited by BOTLFEDLT1; 10 Mar 2008 at 05:04 pm. |

i have a cool story about this. I live in new mexico and one of thier check points is 5 miles away from my house at a resort. Its this tiny little windy road that leads to a dam that i bike every day for my exercise. Randomly i was biking down the early part of the road and i heard crazy loud humming noise. It got louder and louder so i turned my head and as i did so a ferrari f430 flew by me so fast i fell off my bike. He saw this and pulled over and asked if i was ok.
i told him yea and i got back on my bike and headed over to the resort. Iv never seen so many amazing cars in my life. i noticed the guy and he began talking to me and asked me if i wanted a ride. needless to say i was so excited i allmost crapped my self. i spent the entire day there talking, meeting new people and seeing some spectacular cars. i would do if i had the money. |
