"Platoon" or "Full Metal Jacket"

With Full Metal Jacket, you can stop if after the "graduation" if you feel the need, because you've seen the good half of the movie. The vietnam scenes have some worthiness, but its only a so-so movie after boot camp. There is one memorable scene

Q "How do you know which one is the enemy?"
A " If they run, they are VC. If they stand still, they are well disciplined VC"

Q "Do you ever hit women and children"
A "Sometimes"

Q " How do you shoot women, and children"
A " Easy, you just don't lead 'em so much"

Thanks for the input Guys I agree about FMJ being able to turn it off after the Training part if you feel the need but still love it.
Apocalypse Now dosent rate as Highly IMHO i dont go for all the weird Psychology shit. Has its good bits no doubt as that picture shows and the music in that scene suits perfectly (Ride of the Valkyries) overall i prefer Platoon or FMJ though.
