thats not just one race, on tarmac it's the most demanding race of all!!! both for car and driver!! and when they banned the V10, it still won on 8!
let me put it this way: it's like having the superbowl in fuking frozen alaska, going to the finals 4 years in a row and winning it 3 times! C6R > Zakspeed V8 Viper Zakspeed V10 Viper > C5R

I like gm cars, but it's a tough call for me between viper and vette. First of all, I'll call handling a "draw" since Im not good enough to full exploit either of these cars on a track so its a moot point other than bragging rights. Viper is definitely more "exotic", but vette is way more liveable day to day. id probably side with the vette on account of way better sound and civility.

hmm id pick the viper for the v10 sounds. beats the sound of a boring v8 anyday.they look good in pictures.but look like a plastic pig in person.then again vettes aint much better in person.but speed and handling wise. i guess it has to be a c6 vette. and only a c6 vette the other vette dont do nothing for me..

There is a debate all on its own. Sure, the ring is harder on suspension than say LeMans, but there is alot more hard braking involved at LeMans, and alot more "flat out up 3 gears, threshold brake down 3 gears" than at the ring. The ring is tougher on the driver, but the differences make it a wash bewteen the ring and LeMans as far as the car is concerned.

Have you even heard the way a viper v10 sounds in real life? It doesnt sound anything like the v10's i assume you are thinking about (i.e. bmw m5, etc). The way the engine is set up it sounds like two separate 5 cylinders engines = pretty awful.

Like you see alot of vettes and vipers on a regular basis? I do, I see plenty, and the vette sounding better is almost a fact rather than opinion since the vast majority of people don't like the viper sound. A vette can have many different variations of the V8 sound depending on what exhaust system is used and if a cam is added. The viper on the other hand is just to high pitched and sound even worse when an over priced aftermarket exhaust is added.

V8s can sound very different depending on the firing order. z06 at 7100 rpm's sounds a hell of a lot different than the average v8 that tops out at < 6000 rpm. Its like saying a s2000 sounds like most other 4 bangers like a hyundai accent.
If you prefer the vipers sounds due to its "uniqueness" than you most also be a big fan of 5 cylinder volvos, b/c that is in essence, what the viper's exhaust configuration sounds like (pre-crossover pipe days, anyhow). Last edited by BOTLFEDLT1; 07 Nov 2007 at 10:58 am. |

and 5c volvos do sound better then 4bangers. if it wasnt for just about anything american having a v8 it might make them abit more better sounding to me.but hearing all states of tune of v8s it sounds pretty normal and boring to me. now i know your opinion and u know mine. case rested
