Question MOST Familiar Car by Sound

what car can you tell what it is without seeing it, no matter what???

or what engine can you tell what it is just by the sound???

1. Mine is a Subaru STI with any performance muffler, maybe even stock
2. then a Mitsubishi Evo with a performance muffler

So what's yours?????

I cant tell what model it is, but I can always identify a car/suv powered by a nissan VQ35 motor.. there is a distinct "whirl" to it.

I can also identify air cooled porsches (rorty sound and the whine from the fan) as well as 5.0 mustang. All of these cars have a very distinctive sound that is unmistakeable for anything else to me.

Turbo Supra, 5.0 Stangs, Kenne Belle Cobra STI's do have a rather notable sound too. Another easily familiar sound these days would be the G35's/FX's. Some Honda's maybe, but they don't all the sound the same. My 2.2L sounds quite a bit different than say a 1.6L/1.8L Civic motor.
