97Talon, if they should be shot, then you should be shot too buddy, let's be fair now. Ford, on post #10, well the Mexican Consulate are very picky on who they are going to let out of Mexico. Usually one would need a "sponsor" a relative or friend thats willing to help the immigrant, like w/health ins., food, housing etc. So you see it's not just filling out a form and paying a fee.

Memphis you can't generalize when it comes to people because then you would be wrong about immigrants not learning the English language. Sure there are many that don't speak English, maybe they are too busy working two jobs trying to provide for their families and don't have the time to sit down and learn the English language. But they shouldn't be deported for that reason alone. By the way they can't become legal, because they arrived ilegally. Like I mentioned, unless the US passes some sort of amnesty bill they will remain in illegal status. Bottom line is, NO country could literally send 11 million people back to their country of origin, it's too late for that. The US will have no choice but to pass a bill of amnesty for the immigrants that are already here. That's what I think.

the problem i have with illegals and some other immigrants is they only get paid cash so pay no income tax and send a good chunk of money back to the country they came from thus weakening our economy.

Also, if most of us as native speakers of english moved to another country we'd have to learn the language to get by. For some reason that isnt the case here. They've got schools in texas teaching in both english and spanish which quite frankly just pisses me off. Nothing wrong with the spanish language but english is the most spoken language in america (since we dont officially have an official language which would require everything to be written in said launguage) so learn some damn english...damnit!

agreed 100%, they get paid cash, which means no income tax.. its bullshit that we are making it conviniant for them, and then sending us the TAXPAYERS the bill every ****ing time we get a paycheck. our country is so messed up.

They pay no taxes, they have kids here(which become a US citizen), we pay for their welfare and they don't belong here, we pay for higher insurance rates because they drive and crash here w/ no insurance and no license. They make it harder for young Americans trying to enter the work force to get a job. As far as my ancestors.....I am part AMERICAN indian and the Italian anceastos in my family came here 100% legally and had to wait for their citizenship, so don't try to pull this shit on me about all of us were illegal at some point, that shit don't fly w/ me. Also, I don't like the conforming we have to do just to be all politically correct. I can't call any damn business w/ out having to hear some spanish option crap, or go to an ATM machine and have to sit and wait for the ENGLISH version to pop up. That is BULLSHIT. Z33 on #17 & BMXer on #21(last note), most illegal immigrants don't get a tax refund like you or I, and the US govt. ends up keeping BILLIONS of dollars everyear just from that. Matt on #19 some immigrants do get paid "under the table" but that is ultimately the employers responsibility, the workers just want to get paid. I think a lot of the immigrants do speak and understand English, but there are also a lot of them that don't speak English for various reasons. Some are older, and when the human brain ages, it's harder to learn new things. Example, a normal child absorbs everything like a "sponge" they learn very quickly, like a language for example. But when a person gets older, its harder for them to learn a whole new language. BMXer on #21 I personally haven't seen anyone hang their flag above the US' flag. Perhaps its just a matter of pratiotism on their behalf. Like some people hang mini flags on their rear view mirror or put a sticker of their flag on their car, they're proud of their country, but choose to live here. I don't think they're trying to "diss" the country they live in. Their documents are in Spanish because that is their main language. I have the BEST idea of them all. Here it goes:

If ANY race of imigrant wants to come into America they should have to either do it the correct way by paying the dues and waiting the amount of designated time OR, if they are a male or female under the age of 30 they should have to sign up and serve no less than 6 years in the US Army or the US Marines. That way they can SERVE the country they supposedly love and actually contribute. They will get pay, med. care, dental care, housing all while doing the best thing a patriotic American person can do, serve their country. Upon completion of their military tour (upon an honorable discharge) they will be given full citizenship......NOW THAT I AGREE WITH.
