No, the Lotus Elise/Exige is a sports car. There is also a huge difference between a minimalistic interior (which the Lotus has) and a low quality interior (what the Evo has). The Lotus has a sparse interior, but the materials are high quality.

For $90k, there are plenty of cars which perform just about as well and don't have a rental car interior.

The new Z06 will perform as well and certainly is a much nicer car for much less money. Same goes for the M3 CSL.

Watch the video. They say the cheaper Evo is a much better value and I agree.

Well the M3 CSL isn't any picnic either. They went low quality on tons of stuff with the CSL. Cardboard type material for the bottom of the trunk, no AC, etc. They went through the entire list on Top Gear.

I would say if your interested in that particular lancer, get a normal Evo8 and upgrade the snot out of it and you'll still be better off than spending $90k for that.

The CSL is a nice car on the inside. Ever see one? You don't sit in the trunk. Top Gear exaggerated the trunk material for publicity just as they did the plastic body panels and leaf springs on the Corvette. If you see it/feel it, it's normal. FWIW, many cars in Europe don't come with AC...even nice ones.

The fins in the back of the roof are there to help stablilize the car on high speeds.

275 to 405 is accomplished by more boost, better heads and cam, ecu flash, exhaust, ect...
i dont know what exactly what was done to get the numbers but thats just a guess.

i guess all these people *****ing about the interior just dont get it. i understand that for 90k you want a nice interior but this car is only about the performance.

No, I do understand...except for that kind of money you can have a car which offers performance and a decent interior.

I like an Evo for $30k...even $40k. But for $90k, it isn't worth it.

did i every say $90k was a good deal for no interior? lets all hug and be nice cause i sense this thead has gotten just a little hostile.

once and for all: purely performance focused evo with bad interior, we got that. and it should be less money because of the interior.

isnt the evo viii MR less expensice than the plain evo viii due to just having less stuff on/in it? read that in some mag.

There's no hostility here.

The Evo MR is a little more than the standard Evo (about $33,000 IIRC). There is another cheaper/lighter Evo, but I've forgotten what the name is. Too many letters man!
