apreciate the craftmanship to make it, but i woulnd do it, falt6 is part of the porsche experience.
its not the first time something like that is made, i´ve seen pics from the late 80s early 90 of a 930 turbo with a hi tune chevy v8

Porsche is a very balanced car, they need the weight of that flat 6 to be in balance, all that LSx swap did is make that car drive like shit. DISAGREE w/ that 100%

^ ehh, porsche has so many models out, but I remember reading in car and liar that one porsche was balanced at 49/51....that is damn good IMO. either way, a flat 6 that to weigh in 100+ lbs less than an LSx, that will wag that porsche around nicely.

You were probably reading about the boxster/cayman... 48/52... but the only porsche that I can think of that has perfect weight distribution is the one that all the purists like to rag on - the old 944 (50/50 distribution).

while on the topic of v8 swaps into porsches, this is probably the meanest one i have seen. twin supercharged chevy v8 in a 914.
not so much of a swap as it is an entire re-engineering of the car. i think the targa top is the only thing original. very professional looking (lots of custom kevlar/carbon work, mil-spec wiring, stack instruments etc). figure at least 500 hp with probably less than 2500 lbs, and thing has gotta move. ![]() ![]() Porsche 914 - Chevy V8 powered Last edited by BOTLFEDLT1; 09 Jul 2008 at 08:47 am. |
