Default $250,000 black BMW M5 V-10 ended up wrapped around a traffic light in Vaucluse.

Quote:
Simon Main stacks luxury BMW

ESCORT agency boss and socialite Simon Main was nursing more than a bruised ego yesterday after his $250,000 black BMW M5 V-10 ended up wrapped around a traffic light in Vaucluse.

The one-time boyfriend of Desperate Housewives star Nicolette Sheridan was taken to St Vincents Hospital after the crash at 7.30pm on Wednesday.

A witness told senior writer Janet Fife Yeomans "the occupants would have been lucky to survive. It looked as though the car was a complete write-off.''

But Main, who was alone in the car, checked himself out of St Vincents Hospital on Wednesday and was yesterday home alone, relaxing and in a stable condition, his solicitor Jasmina Ceic.

She said he didn't know whether his sought-after luxury German car was an insurance write-off: "There certainly was not any drink driving or anything like that involved.''

Rose Bay police said they were assessing whether any charges would be laid.

It is the latest drama for Main, 37, since he returned to Sydney after four years in an Italian jail for his role in the world's biggest ecstasy bust, worth $10 million.

The stepson of Barry Crocker is contesting a charge of failing to provide his details to police in an incident in Crows Nest in July.

Earlier this month, Main, who worked for Liza Minnelli during a stint in Hollywood, told The Daily Telegraph there was no truth to claims by former escorts contracted to his Prive agency that he owed them tens of thousands of dollars.

The accident happened here in Australia, therefore the artile is correct when quoting the price tag of $250,000 (Aus Dollars).

What a waste of a nice car.
