you get a block of pinewood and u carve it out to a car or so..and put wheels on it and u race against other people. the cars are put on a little hill that has grooves for the tires and u put them up there and the gate drops and they go down the little hill..first one down wins. mostly for boy scouts or so. fun times when ur a kid

Update, took car and weighed it, 3.8 ounces, need 1.2 more ounces. Sanded it down again, wasnt too happy with the finish, had to ground out a section in front of the rear wheels for the lead weights to fit, used my dremel tool and the weights fit nice and flush as seen here
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() little pinewood super-glue and a clamp, good to go, now to put some more primer on it and some more paint ![]()

Vdub, just a tip, more weight toward the front helped my cars out when I was in boyscouts(Had a Dale Earnhardt car
)Also give the car some negative camber and sand down the tires a bit, less friction on the track. Beat my troop a couple times and made it to the county's when I was younger. Think my car was 4.8oz. Its somewhere around here. |

i remember those times.... lots of fun. my dad did what you did, he let me carve out mine first, and i made it like a stock car, but then after getting my ass kicked, the next year i told him i wanted to win, so he taught me all about making a fast light car. We took second in the county... it was soo much fun....both years
good luck, and hope you guys have fun.

![]() as far as sanding down the wheels, thats a in our rule book, i can use graphite on the wheels and axles but no sandingone trick that i did learn was to keep the wheels un-even, meaning, if only three wheels are on the track=less resistance and its not against the rules, we'll see as far as weight, before i put the lead in the back, it weighed 3.8 ounces, the i added 1.1 ounces of weight=4.9 ounces, 5 ounces being the heaviest it can weigh, havent weighed since i started putting paint on it gonna sand the axles down tomorrow and soak them and the wheels in graphite
