Here are some of one of the Benson and Hedges E30 M3's that raced in Australia. These were basically the only cars that could beat the Gibson motorsport R32 GTR's, but only on a very small number of tracks!
I removed the pic links as it was f...ing up. And here's the link to a bit more info. AND THE PICS THAT WERE POSTED ORIGINALLY BY ME. Benson and Hedges gruppe A E30 M3 The years it raced I'm not sure are correct as I recall the cars racing in 91, 92 (last year of group a) and 93 where they were completely outclassed by the 'new' v8 supercar style cars even though they were expected to win against the 'old school' v8 dinosoars as many labelled them. The E30 is the most pure M3 of them all. If I could pick to have any of the M3's I wouldn't even consider anything else!

This thread gives me a lump in my pants
![]() yeah, e30 m3 are the quintessencial bimmer, I just love them! And the recipe was just right for touring car racing, it just out handeled everybody else. For me the best is the last 91/92 season DTM M3, those were just freakin awsome, carbon/kevlar body, ultra leightweight shell, sequencial 6 speed boxes, 2.5l stright four with ultra short intake, sliding throttle bodies giving 365hp@10.800rpm (some say more...) i´d kill for one of those ![]() |
