![]() Holden, GM’s Australian subsidiary and maker of the Middle East Chevrolet Lumina, unveiled the all-new VE Commodore range, which will be the basis for the 2007 Lumina. The car is the first vehicle based on GM’s Zeta global rear-wheel-drive platform. Holden’s SS model and Calais luxury model were chosen to debut VE Commodore at an event in Melbourne. Holden also used the event to introduce its new SS-V Series, which seems to have the same engine as the standard SS. More photos… ![]() The 2007 Holden Commodore range include a 3.6-litre V6 with 241 hp and peak torque of 330 Nm and four-speed automatic, a 3.6-litre V6 262 hp and peak torque 340 Nm and six-speed manual or five-speed automatic, and a 6.0-litre V8 with 362 hp and peak torque 530 Nm and a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. It seems whatever CSV racing series Middle East Chevrolet started under the CSV name is already outdated. ![]() ![]()

Holden has mastered the art of making aggressive looking road cars.
