Not having much to do today, I decided to head on down to the Nürburgring and get a few laps in this weekend. About 1/3 of the way there, the temperature dropped suddenly to about 38* and grey skies turned into strong snow. No matter, I'm in an S4.

When I got there, the track was pretty empty and it was still snowing fairly strongly. Because it's been pretty warm here the past few weeks, the ground was warm enough that no snow was really accumulating. Some areas were slushy though.

It's rare that you get the Nürburgring to yourself, so I took the opportunity to get a few laps in. I'm glad I did. Driving in the rain slows you down really helping you work on driving smoothly and working your line.

The combination of Goodyear Eagle F1's, Stasis Tracksport Coilovers, Neuspeed rear sway bar, and quattro was absolutely awesome. Even at ~40* temps in wet/slush, I was getting very good traction and never felt uncomfortable. I will admit I ran the first lap with the ESP on though.

Here are some pics from the trip. I hope to end up with on track pics later if there were any photographers there today...but I doubt it given the weather. The Eiffel mountains really are pretty in the snow. It was a very relaxing/enjoyable drive.

Only in Germany does highway traffic AVERAGE 90 mph even in a snowstorm. LOL.

Man, when I go to Germany in the next couple of years, Nurburgring is def on the list.
