that happens alot on cars at the auto salons in japan. i lived there for 5 years and went to several of them. they have the clear panels just to show you how the new car designes have changed and stuff. they usually will have the engines cut in half and show corss sections and stuff too. its pretty neat usually, cus it helps you understand the new designs. the average person would not be able to tell the difference in quality from one year model to the next, that helps to educate those people.
