Default My Boxes - Scion xB and Jeep Cherokee (56k dies)

Sup all, new here.. thought I'd post up shots of my rides, 2004 Scion xB Release Series 1.0 (number 0672 of 2100 worldwide), and my 1988 Jeep Cherokee 4x4. Lemme know what ya'll think! All pics are going to be thumbnails, so click for the fullsize

The xB first...

This is the Halloween photoshoot my friend Shane (black xB) and I (orange xB) did to share on ScionLife.com.

Yes, I am one of the people that enjoys car lighting... subtle lighting though, not plastering it everywhere with the tubes showing. All wires and tubes are hidden and fused properly with switches
Hood glow using two pairs of cathodes, one white and one blue - one trans. powering one of each. Blue's under the top cross-support, whites in the fenders

UB consists of VaradULS400 in orange... LED kit, multiple patterns and speeds, and music interface

Gauges that I made... color's a bit off in this shot, the entire background is orange, with the bB a darker orange. And to top it off, the LEDs that light it are orange as well During the day they're white, night they're orange

Aaaand my third-brake cover

These are from a while back, before the tint and system. Messed around in Photoshop on a couple of them, just for fun

Little editing in Photoshop on this one, but I did take those turns at well over 45 Handles like a dream with the Tanabe's, Hotchkis strutbar, and Cooper Zeon ZPTs (fantastic tire, wet and dry :thumb: )

Info on xB: 2004 Scion xB Release Series 1.0, 0672 of 1200 worldwide. Comes with the 1.5L Toyota Echo motor with an immense 108bhp and gets 30mpg. And yes, it will break 100mph, I've had it to 115 on a FLAT road with zero wind. It handles fantastically, due entirely to the DF210's, Hotchkis, and Cooper's... magnificient combination
Current Mods: Tanabe DF210's / Hotchkis strutbar / 17" TeamDynamics Racing ProRace1 touring cup lightweight rims (12.x pounds each) sheathed in 215/45/17 Cooper Zeon ZPTs / Varad ULS400 UB LED kit / custom interior and underhood lighting (not Scion's optional crap, I put it together myself using computer lighting) / custom orange gauges and domelight by yours truly / TOASTR third brake light (my screename on my import forums,.. unfortunately some little **** stole it AND my cars and posted them on here :banghead: ) / Pioneer Premiere DEH360 headunit / Pioneer components / P312D2 coupled to an 800w RF amp and Legacy 3.0farad cap (for show purposes only) / Sylvania Silverstar CoolBlues / 20% front, 5% rear tint

Now for the Jeep

1988 Jeep Cherokee 4x4, 4.0L I6 w/ AW4 tranny, NP242 transfer case
Current Mods: 4" Rubicon Express / Rancho 9000x's / Rubicon Express adj. trackbar / Ford 19lb injectors / header > pipe > Borla (no cat) / 3-row 92+ type cooling / steelbraided brakelines / Optima Redtop / Walmart lights on bumper / 31" Xterrains / beauty marks by nature

Quite a bit of fun More mods are on the way, gonna add a bit more lift by way of ACOS bumpstops up front, which allow you to adjust the lift to your preference. Out back will be a combination of an S10 springpack mixed with the main leaf out of the XJ and the AAL from the lift, mounted to adjustable shackles that can be varied between 1" and 2". That'll allow me to run some 33's, if not 35's with trimming, and a re-gear for the bigger tires. That and some window tint, install the '05 12" Alpine Type-R I've got sitting on my floor, and perhaps somewhere down the road a 4.7L stroker swap :thumb:

That's all for now, positive and negative feedback is welcome. :thumb:

Thanks :thumb: I notice in your sig that your Jeep is always broken... seems to be the norm for us XJers, some symptom or another... I'm currently fighting a lagging/bogging issue right now, replaced the plugs/wires, coil, TPS, O2 sensor... testing the EGR and flushing the tranny today. Reaaaallllly frustrating, but definitely worth the trouble when it's running properly - the most fun I've ever had with a vehicle

atleast your jeep is cool but i think you should use it to run over your other 2 'cars'. i hate xB's. sure, you can do lots of cool mods and trick them out but that still doesnt change that it's an ugly, slow box on wheels. i mean, i heard it's got like 115hp AND traction control. i think the people who included TC on this car thought you'd be driving uphill on ice coated in KY or something. stupid and wasteful addition since it has such little hp. /rant

but like i said, at least your jeep is cool

Only the orange xB is mine Gotten a lot of varied opinions on them, but everyone has their own tastes and preferences so it's all good, no offense taken by anyone's bashing of the xB

the center pin in my Dana 44 rear axle came loose and deystroyes the pinion, I've figured out the mistery. so im pulling the 44 for now and throwing a 29 spline 8.25 rear in there for the winter. But the 44 is going back in in the spring, and heres some more plans.

Dana 44 Rear, spooled w/4.56 gears
rubi Dana 44 w/4.56 gears
rubi rock trac t case
6" full traction long arm lift
34" swamper ltb's
and a new motor

Sounds sweet I need to swap out my axles... D30 front, 35 rear. Since I wish to run at least a rear locker, that 30 has GOT to come out. Probably going to go all-out and do the Ford 8.8 swap, but I'm not sure... It looks like the 8.8 sits wider than a stock Jeep setup, and I really want my rear's sticking out farther than the front. If I can find one, a D44 would work nicely. We shall see....

As for your motor, are you going stock? Or are you going to beat me to my goal - 4.7L stroker? Titan makes a pretty nice one, you can find it on Ebay (complete from heads down) for $1800 w/ 3yr warranty. You pay for shipping to you, they pick up the shipping of the core to them.

actually the explorer 8.8 is .75" narower then a xj rear, but if you do put a 8.8 rear make sure you weld the axle tubes to the center section or they will spin. but they do work nice, i know a few peaple that have the 8.8 in the rear, 2 of them are runnin 35's and the other is runnin 37" claws and the 8.8 is holdin up fine for them.

Yeah, figured I've have to truss it... not a problem, got some peeps with welding goodies and skills. As for the width difference, that's sweet... .75" is nothing

You got a link for some pics of yours? I'd like to see what it looks like
