The windshield has a THICK layer of soft laminate inside it, keeping it from smashing completely, a windshield will only crack, not "explode" like a normal window does, (such as his roof). If you have tinted a window that will keep the window in one piece, SO tint is good. You do get a safety laminate for glasses which is kind of like a tintless tint, to prevent glasses of exploding when breaking. Not a stupid idea.
