That's what it's there for. The only reason I own this car is to abuse it. It's a stripped out track whore.

every time a car hits its revlimiter carbon builds up in then cylinder and you do it enough and say bye bye to that motor just trying to save a bmw

Uh, that's not true.

Hitting the rev limiter really doesn't have any terribly bad effects. There are many engines in this world which operate on the rev limiter nearly 100% of their life.

I'm not saying go ride your rev limiter for 50 miles straight, but hitting it every once in a while isn't going to harm a thing.

yesssssssss, definatly likin the 5 series , but ya, it woulda been better if it wasnt riding on the limiter....stilll that was sweet.... can i ride?
