Default My son at Cornerstone MX 9/5/09

took him riding yesterday, being that he's been pretty good in school, and hasn't ridden in quite awhile.

So, I won't say much - I'll just let the pics shine! He makes me a proud papa everytime I see him.

Gettin a lil sideways!

Good traction!

Anyone that's ridden a dirtbike - we've done this.....

Him railing this flat corner - almost taking the cameraman (...me) out!

Yeah, that 3rd pic - he was tryin to do like the other guys on the maintrack, in which they were sliding sideways into a corner - squaring it off - then just drifting the remainder of the runouts...it was slick.

He came into the corner a lil hot, and I even got a lil concerned. But he mashed that rear brake, and sure enough - that thing went to sliding.....looked kinda like a supermoto move....LOL!

It's a rough job - but (yeah, yeah, yeah......I know) someone's gotta do it!

He saw this thread today, and immediately wanted to see what everyone was saying.....He appreciates (as do I...ya'll know this) the good words.

We're fixin to sell the black bike, and move to an orange one (KTM mini adventure 50) - we'll have fond memories of the PW, and the joys it brought us all.

Selling it? Nevermind..... I was going to say if you haven't unlocked 1st gear, it only takes about 2 hours of time.... I did it for my buddy's bike as a present for his kid's birthday. Went from slowpokin around to rooster tails....

It's not the speed that bothers me (this one's got plenty of get up after we mod'd it) -

It's the shitty suspension that worries the shit outta me, everytime launches that thing over a jump - it's like landing on a pogo stick. It doesn't soak up any bumps, jumps, or chatter - it literally bounces, because it's got no shocks. It only has springs with little rubber bumpers at the bottom of them to keep it from bottoming out....and even those are starting to wear from the kid riding this thing like a full fledged dirtbike.

The Mini Adventure KTM actually has marzocci forks, which in turn are real forks. They have dampening for compression and rebound, and clickers up top for fine tuning them for your child's weight and ride-style.

Sounds like a no brainer to me. I at least wanna see this kid on an 85 some day, ripping shit to shreds!

My son had a KTM 50 pro jr and it was a great suspension, now the power scared him to death. I got it for him when he was 7 and about 60-65 lbs, he had very little riding experience at the time. I think it's a natural progression for your son and he'll definately love the new ride over his current set up regarding suspension

thanks for sharing, stay proud... He's awesome
