so, we went riding today

well, I say 'we'. but in all honesty - I didnt' ride anything all day long, but guess who did.....yep - you guessed it. My boy finally after a year long bout w/ his sickness - made his first ride at a REAL MOTOCROSS TRACK. His screams of enjoyment were pure @ heart, and his wreck was quickly covered up by pure adrenaline. I give thanks to ya'll for backing me up when I was doubting myself for being a 'so-so dad', and telling me that I am a good father. I know this ofcourse - I'm his fkn father....lol, but w/ him - life is different.


AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAnyways........enough blabbin. Here's the pics!

we had to get him some new gloves this morning - his old ones got tossed in the dryer, and melted.

ARound noon - the temp dropped by about 10-15 degrees F in like .. 7-10 minutes...yeah, got chilly quickly. So, he wanted a jacket, and continued on his merry way.



He asked if he could 'jump' this.....and tried - -I still swear I see a lil air under that front tire....ya'll tell me.

WE're taking those training wheels off this week, to start getting him adapted for his new braces. Gotta grow up sometime right? It'll be hard @ first, but you guys/gals know as well as I do - he's a tough little shit.

Cool stuff, man. Always good to see good parenting at work. My dad used to take me 40 minutes away to this one park a couple times a month just so i could ride the trails on my mountain bike. Good times

I've been summoned by a few of the posters on our local motocross forum to take his training wheels off. I don't know if it was a good idea or not, and he was 1000% for it - we took the training wheels off yesterday and gave it that good ol' "College Try".

Long story short, 62 layovers, 1 header into the fence (he did ride that thing about 40 feet by himself, no help from me), and a black eye from when he rammed the fence and the visor on his helmet popped him.

After all that - he wants to try again tonight.....this kid makes me proud to call myself his dad. I don't know how soon it'll take completely - but I'm guessing by Christmas - we should have another up on 2!

OK, last I left this - I was hoping by Christmas he'd be up on 2 ..


....lo' and behold - he's done it well ahead of schedule. Yep, took him out ot play again, and he just.....did it. NO *****ing, no cryin, no nothing....just a few dirt samples and voom...off he went. He's officially up on 2 now.
