of course it will hit the news, just the same way that anything about the ZR1 hits the news too.
70+ launches is a lot, but I would think w/ all the launch control computer help that it would stand up to more than that.....then again, maybe the owner/tester didn't take proper precautions in changing tranny fluid after hard runs or maybe to many hot lap runs.

70 launches isnt really that many. You figure on a given visit to the strip you will do 5-10 launches and then at least a couple times a week on the street, otherwise, whats the use is having a fast car?
Not a surprising result. You put 480+ hp through awd in a 3800 lb car and something has to give. The only car manufacturer w/ awd that I would trust beating on day in and day out is porsche. |

I remember hearing a story about ford and the mustang cobra (I know it's a lot less hp, but it was also a lot less money) where they tested the t-56 saying it needed to do 500 drag launches and then gave up testing after 1000.

1 gearbox failure and it makes huge news? There are no details about the car itself so there is no way to say it wasn't the owners fault. On person claimed they heard it was 70 launches but again there is no proof. I'm not saying that it might not be a problem but you can't say an entire line is crap when 1 car has a problem. That was like when the kid kicked the roof of the vette and said they were crap.
