7:25 with 300 lbs shed and 70 more HP? The standard GT-R runs 7min 38sec
sooooooo: 13 seconds over 20.8 Kilometers is cutting 0.625 seconds per Kilometer if my maths are correct. Thats about 1.04 seconds faster per mile. That actually doesn't seem too far fetched when you really think about it. The only thing is I'm sure it's a wayyyyyyyyy different story when the car is actually being driven. I guess I would have to see how much faster it is in each corner out of the ~100 or so corners to really believe it. Tell me if this isn't correct math but that would be 13 seconds / 100 corners = 0.13 seconds faster PER corner? If thats the case one tenth off in each corner seems really not that crazy but you'd need one HELL of a driver to extract that kinda performance on a car that's already at it's limit. |

do you wanna get banned? dont post maths in tremek!
kidding ![]() i didnt check them but your maths is about right, but still its a very heavy car, even after shedding 300lbs and getting extra ponies. there has been some talk about manufacturers taking making a few "changes" to the cars for some really hot laps, but even with a few behind the scene mods, 7.25 seems to optimistic for me, i believe it will do a time close to 7.30 or even a shade below it, but mid 20 its alot.

Haha, I'm saved!
![]() But yeah, 0.13 off in EACH corner does seem optomistic. We will just have to wait and see, high 20s would be insane though. What other cars lap in the 7:20 range? Have a look: Nurburgring Track Times - Supercars.net More notably: 7:22.9 - 169.07 km/h -- Loaded BMW M3 CSL----------- (tuned to GTR specs) ~600 PS, Richard Göransson (nov,5 07) PistonHeads Headlines 7:32.18 - 164.07 km/h Porsche 997 GT2, 530 PS/ 1440 kg, company test driver Walter Roehrl Porsche 911 GT2 gegen Honda CBR 1000 RR - Duell am Ring - Testberichte - autobild.de Zonda F was clocked at 7:33. Seems a lot or porsches are officially / unofficially in the 7min 30 ranges. Pretty interesting. Last edited by GTIKEN; 14 Apr 2008 at 05:24 pm. |

Oh woah, thats pretty quick.
Tough then to say whether or not the GT-r will actually hit substantially lower. the zonda packs more power and less weight I think than even the V-spec with 650bhp and 730lb tq weighing only 2807 lbs. hmmmmmm we will have to see! |

should be interesting to see these two cars go down the 1320.
ZR1 ftw though in a straight line. who cares if it laps a track faster. how common in the states is it to go to a track as opposed to going to the strip. i dont care much for the track, stalled auto knows its place.. in a striaght line

the zr1 should do considerably better than the 7:40s since the z06 does it in 7:43, and the zr1 has a wider lower stance, giant ass breaks and a large increase in power, however, not sure it will do it in the 7:20s. low 7:30s for sure.
