The 700HP statement was retracted from Motortrend in Feb 07 and then unretracted in June 07. It goes back and forth.

So Motor Trend said it had 700hp.... BTW technically you were the one to throw the bone to the GM dogs lol. I just realized I didn't address the topic, its too much and is out of reach for the average joe especially after mark ups.

1st- $200k+ was dumped into the Z06 not all cars, and $60+k was dumped into the Ford GT
2nd- What I meant by low production was yes it's exclusive, and by how little money you dump into the Viper and esspecially Ford GT, compared to the Z06 which broke) you know where the excess money went.
3rd- By your previous posts, correct me if I'm wrong but don't you like to brag about what LS series motors can do?
How restricted the LS1 Camaros/ what they are capable of?
How they respond to aftermarket parts?
I did the same thing when justifing the price differances of the Viper, Ford GT & Z06.
I dont mean to come off like a di*k but pick one side of the fence.
4th- No the manufactures did not intend these cars to be drag cars, they had to be street legal (meet all government standards hear in North America), run on pump gas, no nitrious (which is illegal on the streets). By the added suspension/ brake dollars, it's fair to say these cars handle and stop alot better than stock
5th- Just out of curiosity does anyone have the production numbers of the GT500, 2008 Dodge Challenger, Viper, C6 Corvette and Z06.
By memory;
GT500 was about 9000 units annually
2008 Dodge SRT10 Challenger: EST 6300 Units
C6 Vette: ?
Z06: ?

Lastly, I was going to post this last time but forgot, you made referance to how the Hemi being well marketed, nothing personal just would like your opinion, wouldn't you say the ZR1 has been a DISAPPOINTMENT & poorly marketed so far.

Check this out;
When the ZR1 project came out;
a) It was called the Blue Devil because GM sources were saying it dyno'd 666RWHP
b) GM went said it'll have easily 700HP
c) The car was supposed to weigh less than 3000LBs, and most likely be a mid to high 2800LB machine.
Todays FACTs;
a) The nickname Blue Devil came from Rick Wagnors Duke University Athletic University team.
b) The cars is now est at 620HP (11.5 % less power)
c) Car weighs 3400lbs ( 13.33 % more, using 3000lb orignal estimate to todays 3400lb new estimate)

In comparsion to the GT500
Est was 450HP, dyno'd 443RWHP, Ford thus had to change rating to 500HP

What I'm also trying to say making cars around 600HP @ around $100k USD their going to weigh 3400LBS and theres no such thing as real efficiency, in contrast to your comment that GM is well ahead of Dodge & Ford in engine/ car development.

I'm looking forward to seeing the ZR1 also, and truely hope it does well.

Disappointment and poorly marketed? you should get your facts straight before making a statement like that, GM never officially released any specs or promises on the ZR1, they did not even confirm (or deny) the existence of this car untill it was built, even to date there isn't a firm HP rating, just that it'll make atleast 100HP/L, all of the names and numbers you're talking about were from supposed leaks, speculation, and rumours not from GM, and you wanna talk about overrating HP, like Ford with the earlier Cobras, Mazda with the RX8s, etc who had to call back their vehicles for making significantly less power than rated, so this time around with the GT500 Ford learned their lesson on HP rating, maybe this time they got their numbers right, you wanna give them props for that, shit, even a broken clock is right two times a day, disappointment? ya, the ZR1 is such a disappointment that most of them have already been spoken for and the 1st one sold for 1 million bucks, truly disappointing.

First I proved that GM overrated their ZR1 from an article in Motortrend.
Like I posted before, they made their 700HP claim, retracted it, then said it again. No one's talked about a firm HP rating, odviously that comes out when the vechile is slated for manufacturing.
1st- Yes Ford overrated some vechiles in the past, but at least they admitted it and rectified the problem ( which i cant say other manuf have done)
2nd- The other stats where the car dyno'd 666RWHP, probably weighed less than 3000LBS came from YOU directly when we go out and talk about cars.
I never knew about the Blue Devil/ ZR1 until you bragged on how great it was going to be and what was in store. Your bragging facts (which I dont know where you got from, assuming a GM source) have been proved wrong.
Thats what the arguement is ABOUT.
When GM makes an up coming car, all the nuthuggers go crazy on how great the product is when itcomes out, onec it doesnt live up to what GM and other sources said it was going to do, everyones pointing figers- I didnt say that.
Get real.
Shit, in comparsion to THE GM nutthuggers, the Ford GT lived up to everything it said.
3rd- It sold for a $1,000,000 (congratulations) cause the guy who had the highest bid of $900,000, up'd his own bid, to a mill for charity and some other goodies and the ZR1 was marked as #001.
No one said the Vette fetching 1mill was disappointing just the BS around it.
