Banks Power - Jay Leno's Tank Car

HOLY HELL!!!!!

" Although the engine and turbos can easily produce 1600 horsepower and 3000 lb,ft. of torque, anything above 1200 horsepower produced violent wheel spin, and getting any readings was impossible. The tie-down straps holding the car on the dyno didn't like it. We eventually softened the tune-up a little to make it a bit more street friendly."

It's got the motor out of a M47 Patton Tank. The motor alone weighs 2000 lbs lol and has a transmission out of a greyhound bus.

I believe it is a 35 gallon tank. It runs on regular gas. And the turbo's double his MPG from 3 to 6 hahahaha. Here's another article by leno on it:

if it is a tank engine it should run on disel fule

Nope, it runs on regular gas. The tank ran on 80 octane, not sure what leno runs in it. The motor itself was made by chrysler/continnental and it's one of the very first HEMI's ever made.

this is the first tank i know about wich runs on regular gas,,,
woow it would consume alot more with the regular gas more than diesel
